Zanetti: Inter will soon be challenging again
The experienced defender remains positive after his
side's disappointing performances this season and believes they will
soon be back among the elite. Javier Zanetti is confident that Inter will soon be challenging for top honours again after a disappointing 2012-13 campaign.
The Nerazzurri
have been struggling to find their best form this term and sit only
ninth in the Serie A table at the moment, prompting club legend
Alessandro Altobelli to describe the current crop of players as the
worst Inter team he has ever seen.
Zanetti, however, feels they should take the positives from this season and focus on the future.
"President
Moratti and the club are working to make sure Inter are soon
challenging again," the injured Argentine told reporters. "Unfortunately
it's been a bad season but we have positives to take from it, like
[Mateo] Kovacic, for example. He's the present and future of Inter. "It's
been an unfortunate season but we're thinking about the future. We'll
start again with the positives and our young players."
Inter take on Udinese in their final game of the season this weekend.
